Previously Country Manager at Upwork (Elance-oDesk)
Internet | Singapore, SG
I have a decade of experience building successful marketing campaigns and running communications for international organizations.
My immediate focus is community building, B2C outreach and helping companies connect with their users, online and offline. I'm awesome at translating customer needs into workable product improvements that increase engagement, retention and client satisfaction.
I launched the Singapore country office for Upwork (previously Elance-oDesk). In my role, I focused on communications outreach in a top tier market for the Silicon Valley based firm and managed a small team. I brought in new clients onto the platform and supported them in exploring the opportunities of working with independent freelancers. I did this through community outreach, hosting events, speaking, and PR.
My work has ranged from managing outreach efforts (direct mail, events, web) for Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation to running community marketing for four million users a month at www.PBwiki.com. I've pitched the Ford Foundation, worked with Fortune 500 clients, and run online events for thousands of users a week.
RIght now you can catch me in Singapore running community events (#FailconSG, #walkSG), sending out a weekly events list (www.thelist.sg) and working some digital marketing magic with awesome clients.
I've been know to pack everything in and travel the world for a year. You can read about my adventures at www.urbanhikers.com
